Governor Newsom Highlights California’s Record Growth in Battery Storage

Governor Gavin Newsom announced at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) that California has reached nearly 17,000 megawatts of installed battery storage capacity, marking a 2,100% increase since 2019 and representing one third of the state’s estimated storage capacity goal for 2045.

This milestone highlights California’s leadership in energy storage deployment and its continued commitment to grid reliability and clean energy progress.
