Transmission Access Charge Options Working Group

The ISO will host a stakeholder working group on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 to discuss benefits assessment methodologies for the Transmission Access Charge Options initiative, at its headquarters in Folsom, CA. This working group meeting will be preceded by a stakeholder meeting on March 1 for this initiative, which will cover all aspects of the straw proposal, including the benefits methodologies to the extent time permits. The objective of the March 9 working group are to examine in greater detail the alternative methodologies for determining the benefits that different sub-regions within an expanded ISO balancing authority area would receive from a new transmission facility. In addition to methodologies described in the straw proposal, the ISO invites stakeholder suggestions for methodologies that would be effective for determining the geographic distribution of benefits from a transmission facility. A stakeholder who wants to present an alternative methodology at the March 9 meeting should contact Kristina Osborne at kosborne@caiso.com by close of business March 3. The straw proposal, posted on February 10, 2016, is available at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/StrawProposal-TransmissionAccessChargeOptions.pdf.
