SCE announced that it will host a Market Awareness Webinar for the 2017 IDER Pilot RFO on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 10:00am to 12:00pm PST. This informational conference will provide an overview of the 2017 IDER RFO.
On June 15, 2017, SCE filed a Tier 3 Advice Letter as part of the IDER Proceeding (R.14-10-003) requesting approval from the CPUC to launch the 2017 IDER RFO. The IDER Pilot will aim to procure DERs to defer the need for capital expenditures for traditional distribution infrastructure upgrades at two distribution projects, without a loss of system reliability. The solicitation is expected to launch in October 2017 and will conclude four months after launch to test an expedited process as outlined in D.16-12-036. However, the timing of the solicitation will depend on when the CPUC approves SCE’s advice letter filing and SCE will launch only after approval has been granted.
The IDER RFO will use a two-step process: (1) indicative offers; and (2) shortlisting of indicative offers for negotiations. SCE may execute Final Agreements with a subset of the shortlisted offers. Information and documents regarding the 2017 IDER RFO will be released prior to the RFO launch.
SCE is soliciting the following potential products:
• IFOM Energy Storage (RA Only)
• IFOM Energy Storage (RA with Put)
• IFOM Renewable DG
• IFOM Renewable DG/Storage Hybrid
• BTM Renewable DG
• BTM Renewable DG/Storage Hybrid
• BTM Demand Response (End Use Load Reduction)
