The ISO has scheduled a Reliability Services initiative working group session on February 24, 2014 to discuss a potential design for a market-based ISO mechanism to replace the capacity procurement mechanism (CPM) backstop procurement authority. This is outlined in section 7 of the issue paper, which was posted January 28 on the ISO website at: http://www.caiso.com/
The workshop will consist of limited background material and primarily focus on potential proposals for a market-based backstop mechanism. Market participants are encouraged to formally present either conceptual ideas or concrete issues that should be considered in the market-mechanism design process. Please email email@example.com, if you are interested in presenting.
Considering the open dialog that takes place in a working group session, the phone participants will be in a listen only mode for the day. To fully participate in the dialog, please attend in person.
Interested participants should RSVP to SMC@caiso.com by February 20 if planning to attend the meeting in person. The ISO will post a presentation and agenda on its website by close of businessFebruary 20.
All participants are welcome to submit comments on the discussion to RSA@caiso.com by close of business March 3.
