The CEC will jointly conduct a second workshop with the CPUC, CAISO, and LADWP to discuss the near-term gas and electricity reliability risks to the LA Basin, due to recent events at the SoCalGas's Aliso Canyon gas storage facility. The workshop will focus on energy reliability for the winter of 2016 to 2017. The joint agency staffs will present the draft paper titled Aliso Canyon Action Plan to Preserve Gas and Electric Reliability for Los Angeles Basin Winter 2016 to 2017 (Action Plan). The Action Plan includes staff recommendations for additional near-term mitigation measures to improve the reliability of the Los Angeles Basin energy system for the winter of 2016 to 2017. The workshop will include a panel of utility representatives to provide their perspectives on the Action Plan. A panel representing large-scale energy users will also provide comments. Finally, there will be an opportunity for public comments. The workshop is part of the 2016 Integrated Energy Policy Report (IEPR) Update proceeding.
