This workshop will be used to inform parties and Commissioners of the different possible directions for developing IRP policy guidance and performing optimization modeling in this proceeding. It will provide an opportunity for parties and Commissioners to learn about E3’s CA Pathways study (the model inputs, results, and potential use as guidance in this proceeding), in addition to how other entities and/or regulators are doing IRPs and potential lessons for California.
On April 22, 2016, the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) in the 2016-17 Long-Term Procurement Plan–Integrated Resource Plan (LTPP–IRP) Rulemaking (R.16-02-007) shared with the service list a straw proposal for discussion at the prehearing conference, which took place on April 25th. The straw proposal contained a schedule with a potential workshop on IRP policy guidance in June 2016. On May 26, 2016, Commissioner Randolph and ALJ Fitch issued a Joint Scoping Memo and Ruling of Assigned Commissioner and Administrative Law Judge for the proceeding.
