DR Programs Use of BUGS Overview & Technical Discussion

Notice of Public Workshop:  Overview and Technical Discussion of Energy Division’s Proposal Regarding the Use of Back-Up Generation in Demand Response Programs - R.13-09-011 - Order Instituting Rulemaking to Enhance the Role of Demand Response in Meeting the State’s Resource Planning Needs and Operational Requirements.

The purpose of the workshop is to provide to parties a presentation of the Energy Division’s proposal regarding the use of back-up generation in demand response programs and to provide parties an opportunity to ask technical questions on the proposal.  The workshop will be facilitated by Judge Kelly A. Hymes.  Additional information will be disseminated in January 2016.  Questions should be addressed to Bruce Kaneshiro at bruce.kaneshiro@cpuc.ca.gov

  • Defining Prohibition:  What resources should be prohibited in demand response.  What resources should be exempt? Should any demand response programs be exempt from the prohibitions policy?  Issues also include those regarding the Self Generation Incentive Program, Storage, and customer class.
